Professional Summary

  • I have ten years of clinical and public health nursing experience and have focused on the identification and treatment of at-risk communities and individuals. Through my various career positions and clinical experience, I have learned to assess communities and individuals in need and effectively organize and promote optimal outcomes to mitigate health disparities. I have remained an advocate for the public’s health, highlighting harm reduction strategies with a primary research concentration on addiction. I am very interested in all aspects of addiction from the genetics/genomics of addiction, to bedside care/treatment and harm-reduction efforts.

My research has highlighted the dire need for widespread prevention efforts regarding the opioid overdose epidemic that is plaguing the country. My original E-learning tools are recognized throughout the state as novel in combatting the epidemic; I was recently recognized for my work with the University of Cincinnati’s coveted E-learning champion award. I have a solid background in clinical nursing, community and public health nursing, program and curriculum development and nursing/public health education/research that uniquely position me to successfully perform my duties as an Assistant Professor.
