Virtual Event (RSVP)
Cities are an essential part of our solution to the biodiversity crises. Cincinnati is occupied by a surprisingly diverse assemblage of wildlife species that are important for animal conservation, ecosystem health, and public education. This Flashpoint will discuss opportunities to contribute to global efforts to promote a sustainable environment by fostering an understanding of, and positive relationship with, our urban wildlife.
This Flashpoint discussion, moderated by Jai Chabria, will feature the following panelists:
- Joseph Johnson – Ecologist and Assistant Professor of the School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati
- Meeka Owens – City of Cincinnati Councilmember
- Thane Maynard – Director of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden
The Digital Futures Flashpoint series is a collection of conversations of consequence amongst a panel of national, regional, and local thought leaders on topics that are timely and of interest to the public. As part of
Digital Futures and
Research2030, UC subject-matter experts are positioned alongside influencers, policy makers, members of the media and, importantly, movers & shakers from industry, government, and the community to collectively grapple with the big challenges the people of our city, state, and nation care most about.
