News

UC researchers continue to blaze new trails in science, medicine, business, education, engineering and the arts — literally transforming the way we live, work and learn.

Findings is the Office of Research’s newsletter, which began in October 2017. It delivers monthly updates to faculty, staff, students, and community partners about impactful research, initiatives, partnerships, events, and opportunities at the University of Cincinnati. To view current and previous issues of the newsletter, go to the Findings page.

Congratulations to this year’s URC Faculty Research Pivot Awardee!

Building upon the rich legacy of the University Research Council (URC), UC’s oldest and most prestigious internal funding program, the URC Faculty Research Pivot Awards are targeted to mid-career and beyond faculty who are proposing transformative new ideas and directions for their research, scholarship, and creative activities. This program is for individual faculty and may be discipline-focused or interdisciplinary in nature.

Each year, following a two-stage application and evaluation process, up to five faculty members are awarded $15,000 for a period of 24 months.

Congratulations to Anima Adjepong, this year's awardee!

This documentary film project focuses on sport (soccer), a popular cultural form, to understand how Ghana’s landscape of gender and sexuality has transformed in the postcolonial period. The use of storytelling and archival imagery makes this cultural history accessible to new audiences, thus creating opportunities to engage differently with structures of patriarchy and homophobia in the context of sport and beyond.
