Digital Futures Phase II: New Faculty-Led Labs, New Research Capabilities, and More Shared Facilities

Digital Futures Phase II construction is underway and by January 2025, will be complete. The renovations of levels 1, 2, 3, and 6 and the completion of floors 4 and 5 will make way for several new faculty-led labs, expanded research and technical capabilities, and new shared facilities.

Come spring 2025, the 5th floor of DF will be home to UC’s Computer Science Department and the 4th floor will host new, state-of-the-art, restricted access research facilities overseen by the Office of Research’s Research Security & Ethics unit led by Associate Vice President Dr. Holly Bante. Also planned for DF’s new 4th floor is UC’s fast growing cybersecurity program of research, led by the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI) and the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy (CCSP). The expansion of applied cybersecurity research in Digital Futures embodies President Pinto’s vision for Digital Futures as the place to grow use-inspired, applied, technology-forward programs of interdisciplinary excellence that advance UC’s national reputation as a top, R1 institution.

Stay tuned for more updates on transformative developments at Digital Futures as we continue to usher in the next culture of research and impact.
