The Platforms team within the Research Platforms and Insights (RPI) unit collaborates with the research community to enhance and maintain UC's research infrastructure. By identifying and implementing solutions tailored to researchers' evolving needs, the Platforms team ensures that UC's research ecosystem remains robust, scalable, and efficient.
One of the key components of this effort is Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC), which provides high-performance computing (HPC) tools and research-dedicated data management systems. The ARCC team works closely with researchers to develop tailored workflows, optimize computational resources, and facilitate seamless data transitions bewteen on-premise and cloud-based environments. With expertise in handling large-scale data workflows, ARCC equips researchers with the necessary training and support to maximize their use of computational resources at the local, regional, and national levels.
