The Office of Research’s Research Platforms and Insights (RPI) unit is committed to improving process efficiency and preparing the Office of Research and the UC research enterprise for future growth.

The Platforms team collaborates with the research community to identify and implement innovative solutions, ensuring that the research infrastructure remains robust and adaptable.

The Insights team within RPI plays a crucial role in enabling effective, data-driven decision-making. Working closely with leadership, the team employs various statistical analysis methods, including explanatory and predictive monitoring techniques, to provide comprehensive insights. This data-driven approach empowers the Office of Research to make strategic decisions that support the continuous advancement of the research enterprise.

The Advanced research computing (ARC) team provides advanced research computing tools and research-dedicated data management systems to meet the needs of our researchers. The ARC team works closely with the research community to develop solutions and workflows to solve their current and anticipated large scale data workflow issues. The ARC team provides the necessary training/onboarding and transition of workflows to optimize researcher's use of advanced computational resources, on premise and cloud, locally, regionally and nation-wide.
